This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage AfrikCompare uses, and how to control them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Browser storage (such as local storage) works in a similar way and keeps information on your device.
2. What we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ac_user (cookie) | Keeps you signed in | Essential | 30 days |
| Saved progress (browser storage) | Remembers your searches, comparisons and unfinished bookings, applications and payments on this device | Essential | Until you clear it or finish |
| Preferences (browser storage) | Remembers choices such as notification and alert settings | Functional | Until you clear it |
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
3. Third parties
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Payment pages are provided by our payment partner, which may set its own essential cookies to process and secure payments.
4. Your choices
Essential cookies and storage are needed for sign-in and saved progress to work. You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings; you will then be signed out and unfinished progress on that device will be lost.
