Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using AfrikCompare you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About these terms
AfrikCompare is operated by [Company legal name], a company registered in Nigeria with registration number [RC number], whose registered office is at [Registered address] (“AfrikCompare”, “we”, “us”).
These terms apply to our website, apps and dashboards. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account.
2. What AfrikCompare does
AfrikCompare is a comparison and introduction service. We help you compare insurance, banking products (such as loans), travel, telecommunications, utilities and solar products from third-party providers, and in some cases buy or apply through us.
We are not a bank, lender, insurer, airline, hotel, network operator or utility. The provider you choose is responsible for its product, its terms, its pricing and its decision to sell to you or approve you. Your contract for a product is with that provider.
3. Your account and security
- The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- New accounts are protected with two-step verification: we confirm your phone number or email address with a one-time code before the account is created.
- Keep your password and verification codes private. We will never ask you for your password or a one-time code by phone, SMS or email.
- Tell us straight away at support@afrikcompare.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Payments made through AfrikCompare
When you pay for a bill, data, airtime, booking or other product through AfrikCompare, your payment is processed by our licensed payment partner (currently Flutterwave). We show the price, any fees and the total before you pay.
- Payments are passed to the provider, who then delivers the product (for example a prepaid electricity token or a data bundle).
- If a payment is taken but the product is not delivered, contact us. We will investigate with the provider and payment partner and arrange a reversal or refund where the payment failed.
- Refunds and cancellations for delivered products follow the provider’s own policy, which we show where it is available.
5. Applications, quotes and bookings
Prices, quotes, repayment estimates, eligibility results and value scores are estimates based on the information available to us and the details you provide. They are not offers. The provider confirms the final price and terms, and may decline an application.
When you apply for a product through us (for example a loan), we send the details and documents you provide to the provider you selected so it can assess your application.
6. Cashback, rewards and promo codes
Cashback, reward points and promo codes are subject to the conditions shown with each offer. They have no cash value unless stated, cannot be transferred, and may be withdrawn if a purchase is cancelled or refunded or if an offer is misused.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use AfrikCompare to commit fraud, give false information, access another person’s account, interfere with the service, or copy or scrape our content and data without our written permission.
8. Information and advice
We work to keep product information accurate and up to date, but providers can change their products at any time. Our comparisons are general information to help you choose; they are not personal financial, legal or insurance advice. Please read the provider’s terms before you buy.
9. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for providing our service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for a provider’s product or its decisions, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable Nigerian law.
10. Suspending or closing accounts
You can close your account at any time from your settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account if these terms are broken, to prevent fraud, or where required by law, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you about important changes before they take effect and, where the law or the change requires it, ask you to accept the new terms. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.
12. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, contact us first and we will try to resolve it quickly. You may also contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). Disputes that cannot be resolved may be brought before the courts of Lagos State.
